When the boys at home saw the piece of MU edible print on the kitchen top, they went "Oi!! What's that doing in this house?". We're fans of the underdogs and Manchester United is the enemy. Nevertheless, it was a simple cake to do. The figurine of the birthday boy was of course the most time consuming (the need to dry every piece thoroughly at every stage of assembly). I'm glad I didn't rush through with him because it was raining mad the last 2 days. Had I not dried the figure section after section over a week, he would have collapsed on D-Day. This was a 9" butter cake that came up to weighing 2kg, will feed 20 people well. It's completed covered in "grass" of buttercream.
